Hi I’m Melissa
I’m a UX designer with a background in visual arts and people-focused work. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, where I studied studio art. My training was based in material practice, critique, and process, which has shaped how I approach design today: understanding how people interpret systems and how form supports function. I continue to maintain an active art practice alongside my work in UX.
After several years of intentionally exploring the field, I committed fully to UX design and focused on building strong foundations through structured learning, feedback, and real-world constraints. I completed the Microsoft UX/UI Professional Certificate on Coursera and remain actively engaged in professional UX communities, where critique and peer feedback are central to my development as a designer.
I currently work as a UX designer at Leviahub S.p.A., an Italian logistics company, where I was hired as the company’s first UX designer. My work focuses on laying design foundations: auditing existing products, improving core user flows, clarifying information architecture, and introducing consistency across interfaces. Much of my role involves navigating ambiguity and creating shared structure within fragmented systems.
